Patrick Rummerfield is, quite literally, a walking miracle.
His story tells of the indomitable power of will. He has experienced the defeat of being told he would die in three days, and lived to tell. He experienced the fear of realizing he would never move any part of his body again, and rose to the challenge.
When doctors told his family that the best course for Patrick was to be moved to a long-term care facility, where he could die in peace, Patrick refused to simply accept that sentence. He worked hard, kept his faith and trust as his guiding light, and beat the odds. Insurmountable odds.
Patrick is walking proof that never, ever giving up creates miracles.
He is the first fully functional quadriplegic in the history of medicine.
Time and time again, Patrick rose to the challenge. He survived, and then he walked. He moved and then he ran. And when Patrick runs, he does it with the same commitment and desire to succeed that has guided his life. He has competed in marathons all over the world, and even the Ironman Triathlon. And then there are the fast cars: NASCAR, drag racing, and the world record for land speed on an electric car.

Patrick's Story
Today, Patrick devotes his life to public service, to helping others and to showing the world the power of positive thinking, and the miracles that come out of never, ever giving up by working with patients affected by spinal chord injuries, and by lecturing and speaking publicly on the power of personal will and on never, ever giving up.
